This is the competition winning project for the expansion and renovation of the Bass Museum of Art.
The existing Florida-keystone building was designed in 1930 within Miami's historic Art Deco District. The 63,100-square-foot new addition's design consists of several simple geometric forms like a cylinder, cubes, rectangle bars, etc., each painted in a different color expressing its space inside. This building-block approach permits two phases, each of which looks like a complete work.
