The city of Zhengzhou has been developing a unique CBD which restricts private vehicles accessing the central district. Instead of using private vehicles, the district provides several alternative public transportation systems such as LRT, shuttle buses, BRT, and boats. People from outside the district will access the project site via city buses or private vehicles and will transfer to the district provided transportation system. Accordingly, the project’s main objective is to provide a transfer space for people accessing the district. The project consists of four main functions: a 6,000 car park, a bus park and transfer terminal, a boat pier and last but not the least a landscaped garden. The former three zones are planned to be functionally interconnected while the landscape feature would create a relaxing space for urban life in the central district of Zhengzhou.
